avi.repair Repair a AVI file

Help & how to use avi.repair

Repairing a file in 3 steps

  1. Open the tool. Go to Repair AVI.
  2. Upload the damaged file. Drag it onto the box or click to select it. The rebuild starts right away.
  3. Download the repaired copy. When it's ready, a download button appears. Your original is never changed.

What repair can and can't recover

Broken headers, damaged indexes and interrupted downloads usually recover well, because the data is still there and only the structure around it is broken. Data that never arrived (a badly truncated file) can't be invented, so a partly recovered file is the honest result in that case. Repair works one file at a time.

File size & privacy

You can upload files up to 300 MB. Files are processed in an isolated workspace and automatically deleted after 7 days — we never share them. No account or signup is required, and there is never a watermark.

Troubleshooting a repair

  • Upload won't start? Check the file has the right extension for this tool and is under 300 MB.
  • Repair failed? The file may be too badly damaged, or not really the format its extension says. Try an earlier copy, a fresh download, or the original device.
  • Download expired? Results are kept for 7 days; after that, just repair the file again.
